Zbigniew Brzezinski is a member of the American Committee for Peace in Chechnya. The group apparently supports Ilyas Akhmadov, foreign minister in the opposition government in Chechnya, whom has officially been granted permanent political asylum status in the United States.
He is the author of internationally recognized peace plan which calls for the deployment of a UN peacekeeping force that would pacify the region and set the foundation for eventual elections.
As a poster on Afghanistan Online Discussion Forum said: "Remind you of anything, ring anybells?"
