Tony Blair will escape personal criticism over the events leading to the death of Dr David Kelly when the Hutton report is published on Wednesday.

　明日のハットン・レポート公開に向けてＢＢＣは情報が漏れることに殊のほか繊細になっている。
　レポートのコピーは今頃（director general, Greg Dyke, and the director of news, Richard Sambrookなど）ＢＢＣの関係者に渡されているが、ＢＢＣは情報漏洩の準備は怠っていないというわけだ。

To prevent leaks within the BBC, the corporation has ordered that lawyers be present whenever a copy of the report is being studied. No one who has not signed Lord Hutton\'s confidentiality agreement will be allowed in a room where the report is being examined.

When the reports are not being used, they will be locked in a safe at the BBC\'s headquarters. Some BBC executives will be put up in hotels overnight.

　確かにここで情報が再び漏れたとしたらＢＢＣの報道機関としての信用は落ちるに違いない。
　こうしたＢＢＣの態度は、かつてケリーが情報ソースであることが漏れて、結局ケリーの「自殺」という結果に至らしめた反省から、メディアの面子をかけて行っているＢＢＣの行動だという見方もあるだろう。

　しかしこうした善意に満ちた見方に疑問を提起するのが、次の情報である。

Just 48 hours before Lord Hutton delivers his verdict on the controversy surrounding the death of Dr David Kelly, the BBC has begun an advertising experiment that involves buying up all internet search terms relating to the inquiry.

　つまり、ＢＢＣは他の一般企業が自社製品に関連するキーワードが自分の会社にリンクするようにＧＯＯＧＬＥに金を払ったというのだ。

　言わばＢＢＣは広告主なのだ。このことはＢＢＣが情報漏洩防止に動いていることが単にニュースメディアとしての面子をかけた行動ではない側面があることを示唆する。

　ＢＢＣが広告主となっているキーワードは\"Hutton inquiry\" や \"Hutton report\" などハットン・レポートに関連する言葉。これで自動的にＢＢＣサイトが上位にリンクするというわけだ。

　現在はまだ反映されていないが、明日以降、レポートが公開されてどうなるかは見物だろう。

　ＢＢＣはハットンレポートの事前情報漏洩を恐れているが、そもそも事前に漏れることで何か問題があるのだろうか。

　すべてが予定された通り、よーいどん、で始まるように政府と一体になって動いているということに過ぎないのではないだろうか。
　
　イギリスの大嘘を暴いたＢＢＣのギリガン記者の情報ソースが探り当てられ、ケリーが死ぬことになったわけだが、ＢＢＣ内部でソースを漏らした協力者がいたことも疑われる。

　ＢＢＣの事前情報漏洩防止は、そのようなリークを反省するジェスチュアにもなるわけだが、実は「スクープソースのリーク」を行った人間の思惑通りになっているように思われてならない。

　先のハットン委員会の調査では、ギリガン記者はケリー博士が話したことを鵜呑みにして伝えた、としている。
　
　ジェスチュアーにだまされてはいけない。
